Your financial data stays private
Nest is built so that only you — and the people you explicitly invite — can see your information. Here is exactly how that works.
Sign-in required
Every account is protected by email and password or a trusted social provider such as Google or Apple. You cannot view or edit any financial data without being signed in.
Database-level rules (RLS)
Even if someone tried to query our database directly, Row Level Security policies block them from reading rows that do not belong to them. The rules live inside the database itself.
Space isolation
Your Personal space is completely separate from any Family or Shared space. Members of a shared space only see transactions, goals, and balances inside that space — never your private space.
No hidden access
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. Our team cannot browse your transactions or balances.
Encrypted in transit
All traffic between your browser and Nest uses HTTPS/TLS encryption, the same standard used by banks and payment services.
Bank connections are optional
Bank account syncing is not enabled yet. When it is added, it will use read-only provider connections and require explicit consent. Your credentials will never be stored by Nest.
Plain-language answers
- Can another family member see my Personal space?
- No. Your Personal space is tied only to your account. Other members of a shared space cannot access it.
- What happens if I leave a shared space?
- Your access to that space is removed immediately. You keep your Personal space and any data you added there.
- Does Nest store my bank password?
- No. Nest never stores bank passwords. When bank connections are supported, they will be handled through regulated third-party providers using secure, read-only tokens.
- Is my data backed up?
- Your data is stored on Lovable Cloud infrastructure, which maintains automated backups and redundancy.
